The Chairman Mr Prakash Maunthrooa, accompanied by the OIC of AML Mr Siven Chellen, made a site visit today morning at the Temporary Vaccination Centre, which was set up at the Airport Receptorium since Monday 17 January 2022. During the visit, Mr Maunthrooa had interactions with officials of the Ministry of Health & Wellness, as well as with several airport stakeholders and airline representatives.
The Chairman had personally requested the High Level Committee and the MOH&W to deploy a mobile team at the airport to ease vaccination and to provide Pfizer vaccines to airport staff who are frontliners by nature of their duties.
Mr Maunthrooa also seized the opportunity to meet staff being vaccinated and appealed to all those who were to receive their booster dose, to come at the earliest to enjoy the special facility being extended to them to be vaccinated on their place of work.
It is expected that some 500 staff will have received their booster dose by the end of the first two days of vaccination.
