We are providing short-term on-the-job training/placement opportunities to students from local universities, vocational institutions and other recognised tertiary institutions, in airport relevant activities in several fields. 

Note: Candidates, who have already completed their course, are not eligible for this placement. Applicants are kindly requested to submit documentary evidence of being currently enrolled in such courses, from their respective institutions.

The Chief Guest for the Independence Day Celebrations 2019, H. E. Mr Andry N. Rajoelina, President of the Republic of Madagascar and the First Lady Mrs Mialy Rajoelina arrived in Mauritius on 10 March 2019. Their flight landed at about 14hr55 at SSR International Airport.

The Prime Minister of Mauritius, Hon. Pravind K. Jugnauth and Mrs K. Jugnauth welcomed H. E. the President of Madagascar at the aircraft doorstep upon his arrival. Following the National Anthems of the Republic of Madagascar and the Republic of Seychelles, H. E. Mr. Rajoelina and Hon. Pravind Jugnauth inspected the Guard of Honour.   

Numerous dignitaries and guests, including Ministers, members of the Government and the Diplomatic Corps were present at the Receptorium for the official ceremony.

The President of the Republic of Madagascar will be participating in the National Celebrations on 12 March 2019 at the Champ de Mars, in the capital city and is scheduled to leave Mauritius on 13 March 2019.

H. E. Mr Filipe J. Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique, the Chief Guest for the official celebrations in the context of the Commemoration of the Abolition of Slavery in Mauritius arrived in Mauritius today 30 January 2019 at about 17 00 hrs. He is accompanied by First Lady Dr. Isaura G. F. Nyusi.

AML & ATOL organised a Blood Donation and a series of activities on Thursday 26 April 2018 on the occasion of the World Day for Health & Safety at Work. Airport staff and the general public were invited to donate blood and contribute to the national effort to maintain an optimal stock in the Blood Bank. From 09 00hrs to 16 00hrs, some 219 pints of blood were thus collected, which represents a net increase as compared to last year.

Participants also had the opportunity of attending awareness sessions on various health issues in view of improving their knowledge and sensitising them on the importance of adopting healthy living habits.

AML and ATOL express their sincere gratitude to one and all who participated and donated their blood to save lives.

Selon les procédures établies et s’il y a lieu, les compagnies aériennes communiqueront à leurs passagers les informations sur tout changement dans les meilleurs délais.

Les passagers souhaitant reconfirmer les détails de leurs vols sont donc priés de contacter leurs compagnies aériennes respectives.

Une autre prestigieuse récompense s’ajoute au palmarès de l’aéroport international SSR. En effet, notre aéroport a reçu le prix « Best Airport Staff- Africa » de l’organisme Skytrax. Une récompense qui vient mettre en exergue les compétences et le savoir-faire mauricien en matière de services aux passagers et autres usagers de l’aéroport.  

C’est le 21 mars prochain à Stockholm en Suède, que Skytrax, un organisme basé au Royaume-Uni et qui évalue les services des compagnies aériennes et des aéroports à travers le monde, décernera le prix de meilleur personnel aéroportuaire en Afrique, à l’Aéroport de Maurice. Pour rappel, introduit depuis 2001, le classement mondial des aéroports internationaux de Skytrax est établi en fonction des votes des passagers et des professionnels du monde du voyage et de l’aviation. Plus de 500 aéroports sont évalués en fonction de leurs infrastructures et de la qualité des services offerts.     

Au niveau du classement du Conseil international des aéroports (ACI), Maurice reste sur le podium en se classant à la deuxième place en Afrique, derrière l’aéroport de Casablanca et devant celui de Durban. 

Malgré la rude compétition entre les aéroports pour se retrouver dans en tête des classements internationaux, la bonne performance de l’aéroport de Maurice démontre les gros efforts consentis pour offrir un haut niveau de service. De nombreux projets sont à l’ordre du jour pour assurer que l’aéroport international SSR soit doté d’infrastructures aéroportuaires de haute facture et continue à innover, tout en offrant toujours plus de confort et sécurité aux passagers. Ainsi, un CIP Lounge sera bientôt opérationnel dans l’aérogare à l’enregistrement, pour offrir un nouveau service premium. Il y aura également dans quelques mois le début de la rénovation d’une partie de l’ancien terminal, qui permettra d’augmenter la capacité d’accueil et la construction d’une nouvelle tour de contrôle entre autres.   

Au vu de la croissance continue dans le trafic passager, AML compte poursuivre sa stratégie afin d’améliorer davantage les capacités opérationnelles et le niveau de service de l’aéroport international SSR.

Depuis la réouverture de l’aéroport international SSR hier soir, mercredi 18 janvier à 18h30, les vols ont repris graduellement. Pour rappel, après que les services météorologiques ont enlevé les alertes cycloniques, le Comité d’urgence de l’aéroport s’est réuni à 17h30 hier après-midi pour passer en revue la situation au niveau des infrastructures et services aéroportuaires. Heureusement, il en ressort qu’aucun dégât majeur n’a été noté après le passage du cyclone Berguitta. Un Comité spécial, comprenant entre autres les compagnies aériennes, a aussi été mis sur pied pour planifier et faciliter la reprogrammation des vols annulés jusqu’ici.

Pour aujourd’hui, jeudi 19 janvier, plus de 110 mouvements aériens sont attendus à l’arrivée et au départ de Maurice. Cela représente plus de 20,000 passagers qui seront traités par les services aéroportuaires en un seul jour. A savoir, que plus de 30 vols additionnels sont programmés pour ce jeudi, pour acheminer les passagers qui n’ont pu voyager pour cause de cyclone.

En conséquence, AML et ATOL ont déployé des effectifs additionnels pour mieux gérer ce grand nombre de passagers. Des dispositions spéciales ont aussi été prises dans le terminal passager de l’aéroport afin de mieux canaliser les voyageurs. Ainsi, l’accès à certaines parties de la salle d’enregistrement est temporairement réservé aux passagers uniquement. 

Toutefois, il est rappelé à tous les passagers qu’ils ne doivent pas se présenter à l’aéroport avant d’avoir reçu confirmation de la reprogrammation de leurs vols. Ainsi, il est fortement conseillé à tous les passagers de contacter leurs compagnies aériennes respectives à ce sujet.

Dans les circonstances actuelles, les services aéroportuaires font le maximum pour minimiser les inconvénients pour les passagers, et font appel à la compréhension et la collaboration de tous dans cette situation exceptionnelle.

AML et ATOL et travaillent étroitement avec tous les autres partenaires aéroportuaires pour un retour à la normale dans les plus brefs délais.

Airports of Mauritius Co. Ltd (AML) wishes to inform intending passengers and the general public that SSR International Airport, has reopened as from 18 30Hrs (local time), this Thursday 18 January 2018. The first aicraft to depart from SSRIA is scheduled for take-off at about 22 30hrs (LT), while the first landing from Johannesburg will arrive at  2215hrs (LT)

Intending passengers are however, strongly advised to contact their respective airlines for further information on the status of their flights and not to proceed to the airport, unless receiving confirmation of the revised departure time.

Passengers and the general public are also informed that special arrangements are in place in the passenger terminal to facilitate the processing of the passengers. Thereby, access to certain parts of the Check-in Halls will be restricted to passengers only.

AML is working in close collaboration with the airport stakeholders towards restoring normal operations at the earliest and thus relies on the understanding and cooperation of all in the present circumstances.

Further to the issue of a Cyclone Warning Class 3 (Three) by the Mauritius Meteorological Services and in accordance with the Airport Cyclone Procedure, Airports of Mauritius Co. Ltd (AML) wishes to inform intending passengers and the general public that the SSR International Airport will be closed on Wednesday 17 January 2018 as from 07 00Hrs (Local Time), until further notice.   

Intending passengers are strongly advised to contact their respective airlines for further information on the status of their flights.

AML apologises for any inconvenience caused, and reassures the public that it intends to resume its activities as soon as possible.
